Renewable Energy
What is Renewable Energy? Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources -- such as sunlight, wind, hydro, and various forms of biomass -- which are renewable (naturally replenished).
The U.S. Department of Energy website provides detailed explanations of all types of renewable energies and is a gateway to hundreds of Web sites and thousands of online documents on energy efficiency and renewable energy - www.eer.energy.gov
Our energy moving forward
Some special interest groups present the case that there is one solution to solve the future electricity needs in our country. The nationwide network of electric cooperatives believes that there is not one silver bullet that will pull the United States through this period of rising demand and diminishing supply. Instead there are many individual solutions that need to be balanced to get this to work while keeping rates affordable. The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and their Cooperative Research Network (CRN) has prepared this presentation to help explain their approach towards a balanced portfolio of resources that will keep rates more affordable than any single solution in the future.
